Bekannt fr ihre rauchigen Whiskys ist Bowmore allerdings mit etwa 35 ppm Rauchgehalt im Malz einer der milderen Vertreter der Insel. Bekannt ist die Destillerie neben ihren Abfllungen fr das Vault No. 1 das einzige Lagerhaus Schottlands, das unter dem Meeresspiegel liegt. Bowmore 18 Jahre reifte die komplette Zeit in ehemaligen Oloroso und Pedro
