Nach einer kunstgewerblichen Ausbildung in St. Gallen, Mnchen und Hamburg zog sie 1914 nach Zrich, more wo sie Hans Arp kennenlernte. 19161929 lehrte sie textiles Entwerfen an der Zrcher Kunstgewerbeschule.
