The gypsum compound cools pipes and cables during a fire. It is not suitable for movement joints and expands by approximately 1% during drying. It is used for cable bundles and trays, iron and copper pipes, ventilation ducts, composite pipes, plastic pipes (PEX PP PE PVC ABS), often in conjunction with fire seal tape.
