This was BR’s first fully air-braked wagon

The engine is typical of the small Hunslet 0-4-0STs built by Hunslet of Leeds for quarries in North Wales
The GWR and LSWR used kit-built corrugated iron pagoda buildings for several purposes including storage and as shelter for passengers on branch line stations
This means that the turnout is completely live (except for the tip of the frog) with no extra wiring needed

Examples could still be found on the network until 2009, when the new slimmer signals became standard although this replacement programme began around 2000.
