There is a pin prick sized hole in the bodice and numerous tiny holes in the skirt

as shown in the last photo

hence the saying "Fits like a glove"

Several vertical darts have been added to the skirt to hide a series of larger holes

Knee or above knee length cocktail or party dress. The skirt and straps are lace. The bodice is horizontal pleats of a stretch satin look fabric. Fully lined. Closes at the back with a zipper. No fabric tags, but probably polyester with rayon or acetate lining. Brand is John Claringbold of Melbourne Late 1960s or 1970s. Measurements Size Small Fits bust 87 cm (34")
