Its an old handmade blanket or wall hanging and it contains a lot of history. Every stitch is done by hand. The blanket is made up of 2 pieces that are hand sewn together. The middle part is dyed with beet or berry juice possibly. The cotton shows some age and is pretty brittle see pictures of tears. It measures 57 X 57 inches 1,5 meter X 1,5 meter
