The painting depicts three masted fishing boats with surf crashing on the shore and set against a blue sky yet cloudy sky, with seagulls flying overhead. The scene is set at the foot of the cliffs in Dieppe, France and to the foreground is a man loading baskets of fish onto a workhorse. The painting is signed & dated
