Georgian Ruby Heart Locket Onyx Worn by both royalty andA fine Georgian heart shaped 9ct gold locket framed with flat cut garnets in closed back settings. The centre is fitted with a rock crystal compartment, originally intended to hold a lock of hair, miniature, or other keepsake. Hinged on the reverse. This locket is a classic example of sentimental jewellery from the Georgian period. Circa 1780. The locket measures 2cm high excluding the loop by 1. 5cm wide at the widest point.
