Victorian Tassie Ring nosize With a makers mark “AS”Victorian 15ct gold purple Tassie ring inscribed inside the shank: "A. Henderson from a few Glasgow friends 1879". This ring has attractive raised band detail on either side of the shank. Tassie is a glass version of a cameo or intaglio. It was named after James Tassie (1735 1799) who was a Scottish engraver. He created numerous miniature profiles and medals for the nobles in Britain, and made this type of intaglios very popular. The ring band is 6mm
