Coming from the red iron soils of old vine Zinfandel plots (some of which date back to the 1890s), this blend of 95% Zinfandel and 5% Alicante Bouchet was aged in one third new French oak. It exhibits a deep purple color, full body, and notes of briary, wild strawberry, cherry and raspberry fruit intermixed with notions of tar, earth, pepper and charcuterie.
