Imperata cylindrica | Red Baron | Blood Grass Floret’s farm They are on strong stakes
Description
They are on strong stakes to push into the garden
but rather grow from tuberous roots which spread outwards increasing the plant size each year
The mosaic of colours in each flower make it a particularly good flower to use in bouquets and floral work
It is an excellent choice for both the border and containers and really only requires the odd prune in early spring to tidy it up
This variety is also fine in a well-chosen large pot
Imperata cylindrica | Red Baron | Blood Grass Floret’s farm They are on strong stakesA striking grass that has stunning appeal in the garden. It is a winter dormant plant but come spring it pops up with bright green blades of grass like foliage that turn cranberry red in summer and progresses to a dark burgundy colour by autumn before going dormant again in winter. Blood Grass as it is also known will easily and reasonably quickly form a dense clump of around 40cm in height and by about the same in width and spreads by underground
