Before the flowers appear, it produces long, pendulous racemes of fragrant, pale violet flowers from mid to late Spring for about 6 weeks or so. Hardy, deciduous and best grown in a sunny position for better flowering. Soils need to be reasonably moist and free draining and provide support for plant to grow over. Prune back to
