Beautiful & stylish this was originally gifted to a lady with the initials of B R C which are now part of the compacts provenance as the lid is engraved thus

Their business was located in Pforzheim - the gate way to the Black Forest

The case has a huge amount of very dark patina which we will make no attempt to clean off as we think certain very rare antiques should never be cleaned

This wonderful Art Nouveau dressing table accessory is in very good condition for its age. It has a central vacant cartouche & it is fully hallmarked. The maker was William Devenport. The mirror was assayed at Birmingham in 1903. The mirror gives an accurate reflection but it has quite a few age related marks which make it seem all the more
