Plants form a low clump of grassy lily like leaves and in midsummer bear tall spikes made up of many tiny pinky purple flowers. This particular variety was bred especially for cutting so if you are looking for something striking for your cutting patch then this is a great choice with the added bonus that they are equally as attractive as a dried flower.
