Victorian Agate Anchor Brooch lockets As you can probably tellDATE: Victorian, c. 1860 A fantastic oversized anchor brooch pendant dating from the mid Victorian period, circa 1860. It's hand chased with foliate motifs, and crafted in sterling silver. The rope coiled around it makes it a "fouled anchor". This means to be entangled or entwined, so an anchor is said to be "fouled" if it becomes caught up in rope, or snagged on the seafloor.
