She has been making pottery sculptures since the late 1960s, inspired to continue the family tradition of clay sculpting by her Mother, Damacia Cordero. She uses all natural pigments to hand coil her sculptures, gathering the clay from the hills nearby her home. Martha makes a variety of pottery, from traditional storytellers and nativity scenes to playful characters and comic book
