The original Lake Austin location opened in 1979, and functioned as the second location of The Omlettery, called Omelettry West. It became Magnolia Cafe in 1986 , becoming the diner known for its 24 7 service with an array of Texan and breakfast dishes, from pancakes to migas to Mag Mud queso. The Cafe was visited by President Barack Obama in 2014. The tee honors the neon
